Two Great Commandments

St Matthew 22:36-39

36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37.  Jesus said unto him, Thous shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38. This is the first and great commandment.

39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

As we mentioned in the “Who We Are” tab on our blog… who we are is what we believe.  Thus, a large portion of what we believe in is rendering service to others.

Every six months our church holds a General Conference, where all members from around the world have the opportunity to hear the Prophet and Apostles speak.  It seemed as though there was a universal message carried throughout the conference emphasizing the first two commandments and their deeper meaning; to first love God, and then thy neighbor as thyself.  Included was a beautiful analogy of the Honey Bee in a talk given by Elder M. Russell Ballard.  As I listened to the conference I couldn’t help but want to share these messages with the world, being that what they speak about is truly our desire with this blog – to bind together a community of people around the world in Christian service.

Here are a few links to some of the talks focused on service.  Please take a few moments of your time to watch or read them.

I promise your time will be well spent. These are profound, universal messages to all.

About Joy

We are a couple of gals who have seen the joy that can be added to someone’s life by a single act of kindness. We are mothers, wives, sisters, friends, and Mormons who want to make a difference. We are what we believe in. We believe first and foremost that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and the Son of God. We believe in a restoration of all the teachings of Jesus Christ. We are motivated by love, charity, and faith. Our faith is our inspiration to do and see the good all around us. Even though we all have diverse backgrounds and experiences, we feel by uniting with others committed to serving we can make a difference.
